Hey folks, it's been a bit since I've posted an update, but that's only because I'm just simply the busiest person in the whole entire world.
THE WHOLE ENTIRE WORLD!
Anyway, due to being the busiest person in the whole entire world, I'll keep this brief.
Except, of course, I won't. I'm not even sure if I know what "brief" actually means!
Regardless, this afternoon I'll be recording a new episode of This is Not a Test, which is, of course, a Steeven Orr Else Beyond exclusive podcast.
I've been trying to release these episodes monthly, but that hasn't always happened, so I'm going to try and do better in 2025.
Anyway, the final episode of This is Not a Test for 2024 will feature the first episode of the new season of The Comic Book Show, which I'm working on right now.
Season Two, if you remember, will be five episodes covering the first five issues of Proof from Image Comics, published in 2007.
Issues 1-5 make up the first story arc: Goatsucker.
By the way, if you’re interested in joining Steeven Orr Else Beyond, there are two ways that you can do so.
Apple Podcasts (link) or Patreon (link)
But that's not all I'm working on.
I've got the notes for the next episode of Hither Came Conan nearly complete, so hopefully I'll be recording that episode this week. This is the episode in which I'll be talking about Conan the Barbarian #32 - Flame Winds of Lost Khitai.
If I'm able to record it this week, it will release for members of Steeven Orr Else Beyond on Wednesday, January 1, 2025 (what a way to kick off the new year!) and then Wednesday, January 8, 2025 for everyone else.
I'm also working on Season Two of Growing Up Geek which, well, if you've listened to Episode 4, the final episode of Season One then you heard this bit at the end:
Season Two is all about exploring the magic, the wonder, and the wild imagination that shaped so many of our childhoods. From animated dragons and tabletop adventures to sword-swinging heroes and spellbinding stories, we’ll travel through the enchanted worlds that lived in our books, our comics, and on our screens.
In other words, folks, this break will be a good thing because it's gonna allow you, Dear Listener, to prepare yourself mentally for one truly epic season as I dive into the timeline of my own fantasy journey. We'll kick it all off in the late 70s, when it all began, and then I'll take you through the 80s and 90s as I discovered new worlds, unforgettable characters, and stories that forced their way into permanent residence in my heart.
So yeah, I'm having a lot of fun working on all that.
Beyond that, Episode 72 of The Superman Super Show was released for members of Steeven Orr Else Beyond earlier this week - Superman #9: Part Three (1941) | Mystery in Swasey Swamp - and so it will release on Monday, December 30, 2024 for everyone else.
Speaking of The Superman Super Show, I am currently working to upload ad-free episodes of the entire show for members of Steeven Orr Else Beyond.
If you subscribe through Apple Podcasts, they are very easy to access.
However, if you subscribe through my Patreon, it's a bit more difficult to access the back catalog considering that every episode of all my shows that I've posted through Patreon all live on the same feed.
In order to try and make it a bit easier if you want to go back and binge past episodes that are ad-free, I'm currently doing two things.
One, all of the ad-free, member only episodes of The Superman Super Show are being put in their own collection on the Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/collection/809244
Two, I can now assign episodes on the Steeven Orr Else Patreon feed to a season. In other words, if you listen to the Steeven Orr Else Beyond Patreon episodes using the special feed through Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or any other podcast app that supports that feature (and also sorts episodes into seasons), you will find that there is now a Season One, which is The Superman Super Show.
Eventually there will be a Season Two for all of Hither Came Conan, Season Three for all of The Comic Book Show, Season Four for all of Growing Up Geek, and then Season Five for all of This is Not a Test.
Anything else will appear in the Unknown Season designation.
That's it, folks. That's what I'm currently up too.
Let me know if you have any questions!
